SUMMARY:

The Pack committee met on Wednesday evening, March 6, 2002 at 7pm to discuss upcoming Pack events.

Treasurer’s Report

• Beginning balance on 2/1/02 was $4294.63

• Mary is working on updating each Scouts account. She will let Scouts/parents know when she has this information.
• Mary gave the Blue/Gold Banquet financial outcome.

• Expenses (Prizes, decorations, programs, food) $1122.14

Old Business

• Bill received correspondence from the Council stating our Pack had an overpayment of $10.80. Bill will handle this.
• June 17-21 is Scout Day Camp at Longview Lake. They are looking for camp staffers. Early bird registration is April 12^th.
• Awards Chair person still needed.
• Whiteman AFB tour is still scheduled for August 9^th. Limited to 40.
• Still looking for a new Tiger Cub leader for next year.

New Business

• Webelos Camp is July 28, 29, 30 (Sunday, Monday, Tuesday)

• Woodcarving Show at John Knox Pavilion is March 22 (11-8) and March 23 (10-5).
• SNAW (Sharing Native American Ways) is Saturday, April 6^th (9-5) for Webelos. Registration is $12. ($20 after March 22^nd)
• Scouting for Food is scheduled for April 20^th. (Community Service Day)

  The Troop will pass out bags Friday, April 19^th around 5:30 and then pick the bags up after 9am on Saturday the 20^th. The Pack is more than welcome to participate. The Troop will let Lisa know the final times.

• Rock and Mineral Show March 9^th. Meeting at the Church at 9:15. Doors open at 10am. Kirks Tigers are going.
• King Tut Exhibit currently going on at Crown Center for anyone wanting to see. Bills Den will be attending.
• Pack t-shirt order forms will be handed out at the March Pack meeting.
• Tentative Upcoming Summer Pack Activities

• June Pack Event- Bike ride 9am Saturday, June 8th (by Little Blue Parkway)
• July Pack Event- Benjamin Ranch Rodeo, Friday, July 5^th ??
• August Pack Event- Whiteman AFB Friday, August 9th

Roundtable Announcements

• (New) May 5^th Walking Leader Orientation at 1pm
• (New) Health forms for Day Camp are due ASAP.

• (Old) Leader Specific Training is also April 16^th at 6:30

• (Old) Webelos naturalist activity badge to be worked on at the KC Zoo. Program dates: Feb. 13,14,16 March 20 April 23

Miscellaneous Items

• Diane made two "Thank You" cards for each boy to sign to give to the two car dealerships that donated to our Pinewood Derby goodie bags.

  Cards still going around the Pack to be signed. Ed currently has.

• (Old) The committee discussed doing an open house at the new elementary (Voy Spears) in the Fall to recruit new boys. Also maybe thought about talking to some the families of kindergartners here at Woods Chapel Church about signing up. Think about recruiting after the Blue and gold Banquet.

NEXT STEPS:

Prepare for upcoming March Pack meeting scheduled for March 21^st.

(Date changed because of Spring Break) Den 6 will do the flag

ceremony.

ACTION ITEMS/ISSUES:

• Diane Get info. about a different type of Pack fundraiser for next

  year. ( sell nuts, make/sell pizzas, etc.) Working on.

• Bill Contact Benjamin Ranch to find out info. about July rodeo.
• Bill Follow up with Cliff Utley about booking Mic-O-Say dancers

for Blue and Gold banquet in 2003. Also complete

Church reservation for 2003.

• Lisa Follow up with Troop about Scouting for Food if they don’t

contact her first.
